Our story

The story of our platform

We started editandcheck.com 10 years ago while still putting in the work to complete our degrees at Columbia University, New York. We found that many presenters, authors, and bloggers had little time to polish their writing before presenting or publishing online. This resulted in sporadic errors, which used to ruin their credibility from the first seconds we saw their presentation, blog post, or article. The problem got even worse when these presenters, authors, and bloggers didn't speak English as their first language.

We decided to change that.

That's why we assembled a group of skilled grammar and spelling geeks to help every person, no matter who they are and where they are from, make sure their writing is at its best. What began as a team of four enthusiasts has grown into a platform of 900+ professionals who enhance 700 documents of different lengths a day for clients all over the world.

Over the course of 10 years of hard work, we have assembled the most incredible team of editors and proofreaders with expertise in various fields. Many of our editors and proofreaders have been with us from the beginning. Some people acquired their experience in other places. Anyhow, we only accept applicants with a minimum of five years of professional experience. We only hire experienced editors with advanced degrees in the linguistics field, many of whom have authored books.

All of our editors have undergone testing to ensure they are proficient in all the popular document formatting styles. However, we don't just rely on their credentials; we also take care of their continued development.
